The Man In The Ditch

This is a great sermon! It takes a very familiar parable of Jesus and interprets it through the lens of LAW and GOSPEL, and suggests that the central figure of the parable is not US, but JESUS! Can you tell I'm EXCITED to share it with you? It might be worth listening to more than once.

Let's Talk About the Man in the Ditch - Jacob Smith - The Mockingpulpit

Bible Gateway passage: Luke 10:25-37 - New International Version

The Parable of the Good Samaritan - On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"

  1. What a great perspective. We often make this parable about how we should help people out of the ditches of life, while the point is that Jesus was the only one who could truly help us out of our ditches. It's not about my ability or your ability, but about His ability to bring true deliverance.
